Dr. Livingston A. White is a senior lecturer and Director at the Caribbean School of Media and Communication, The University of the West Indies, Mona Campus, where he teaches courses in Communication Analysis and Planning, Social Marketing, Health Communication and Communication Research Methodology, both at the undergraduate and graduate level. As of 2021, he has been serving as the Public Orator for The UWI’s Mona Campus. Dr. White has over 25 years of experience doing consultations with, as well as conducting research and training for, various local and regional Caribbean-based development and government agencies. His work has focused on issues including climate change, conservation, crisis communication, diversity, equity and inclusion, environment, HIV prevention, public transportation, as well as on evaluation research for informing the development of communication campaigns. He co-authored with Yvette Rowe, the book, Still on Air: Producing Television in Small Markets and has worked in various roles in television production with the Creative Production and Training Centre (CPTC) and the Jamaica Broadcasting Corporation (JBC). Dr. White has served on various committees including being a current member of the Board of Directors for the Creative Production and Training Centre (CPTC), Kingston, Jamaica; member of the editorial board of the Social Marketing Quarterly journal; member of the International Communication Association (ICA) and the International Association of Media and Communication Research (IAMCR); and member of the AdCouncil Jamaica. Dr. White holds a PhD and an MSc in Communication Theory and Research and a BA in Mass Communication.
