CCT TRIBUTE TO REX NETTLEFORD

TRP – FIRST TWO CANDIDATES SELECTED FOR TRAVEL TO CAPE TOWN

Amina Blackwood Meeks and Shakeisha Wilson are the first recipients of the Trilateral Reconnection Project student exchange scholarship, which provides funding and support that enables them to do research toward their PhD theses through the Centre for African Studies at the University of Cape Town. Ms Blackwood Meeks recently departed Kingston for Cape Town, and Ms Wilson is scheduled to travel later this month. more...

CCT HOSTS VISITING SCHOLAR
Recently, the CCT had the pleasure of hosting Jason McCollin, an MPhil candidate at the UWI, Cave Hill campus who is conducting research about the role of radical intellectuals in shaping Caribbean society. Eleanor Williams from the CCT had a conversation with Jason about his research. Read it here.
UPCOMING CONFERENCE
The 7th Caribbean Reasonings Conference, titled, Freedom and Power in the Caribbean: The Work of Gordon K Lewis, will take place from June 3 - 5, 2010, at the UWI, Mona Campus. The CCT has issued a call for papers and panels - the deadline for submissions is December 15, 2009.

Amina Blackwood Meeks is currently in Cape Town as the first recipient of the TRP student exchange scholarship. Read her reflections on her experiences here.
The CCT is accepting applications from students interested in participating in the Trilateral Reconnection Project's student exchange program. Students who are currently enrolled in an appropriate Masters or PhD program at either the UWI, Mona, or the University of Cape Town, are invited to apply. more
