The National Council for Senior Citizens (NCSC) St. Andrew and St. Catherine regions held their Inter-Parish Seniors’ Bible Quiz Competition at the Church of God in Jamaica at 93B Constant Spring Road, Kingston 10.

Parish Organizers Beverley Edwards (St. Andrew) and Felecia Squire (St. Catherine) coordinated the event, judging was facilitated by the Bible Society of the West Indies.

The Quiz competition, which was observed under the theme ‘Enhancing Mental Ability’, fielded 4 quizzers from each parish. Approximately 50 older persons were on hand to witness the event held at the Cleveland Grant Hall where the St. Andrew team led all the way to emerge victorious at the end of the exciting final buzzer section. All quizzers performed remarkably with an outstanding contribution coming from the sole male competitor, Clifton Jones of the Red Hills Senior Citizens Club, St. Andrew.

In attendance were the Honorable Andrew Gallimore, Minister of State in the Minstry of Labour and Social Security who addressed the gathering, staff and volunteers of the NCSC and the MAWC Team.
