This course offers a definitive professional's overview of wireless communications technology and system design. Virtually every important new wireless standard and technological development, including WCDMA, cdma2000, UMTS, and UMC 136/EDGE; IEEE 802.11 and HIPERLAN WLANs; Bluetooth, LMDS, and more, have been reviewed. The technologies and applications that drive the development of 2G, 2.5G, and 3G systems are explored. An overview of the 4G technologies is presented.
