This article highlights the investigation of the antimicrobial activity of the plant Justicia secunda, and it seeks to promote the need for further research efforts in the discovery of novel antimicrobial agents from medicinal plants.

In this study, we aimed to investigate endothelial functions in primary Sjögren syndrome. Although carotid intima-media thickness values were similar, flow mediated dilatation of the brachial artery was disrupted in patients with Sjögren syndrome compared to healthy controls.

This paper sought to determine the prevalence of nephropathy in Type 2 diabetic patients in Tunisia. Clinical and biochemical factors as well as chronic complications of the disease were determined in comparison to healthy subjects. Regular monitoring of Type 2 diabetic patients may help prevent or delay the onset of nephropathy.

Further research is needed to assess the reliability and validity of the instrument with other populations.

Screening for elevated blood pressure in the elderly is recommended, since the prevalence of hypertension increases with age, and can reduce the incidence of morbidity and mortality. A careful and individualized approach is needed when treating hypertension in the elderly, taking into account the presence of co-morbid diseases, drug interaction, side effects, lifestyle and functional state.
