Dr. Ralph Thompson Collection

 

This collection consists of a donation from Dr. Ralph Thompson of three hundred and four (304) books from his poetry collection to The University of the West Indies, Mona Library.  This prestigious collection of poems can be identified by searchingg  UWILinC   using the search term Ralph Thompson Collection.  Books in the collection are located in the West Indies and Special Collection Section.

An avid education activist, Dr. Ralph Thompson has been an advocate for early childhood education in Jamaica for the past 20 years.  He has managed to successfully balance writing and a career in business.
His poems appear in a number of prestigious international journals including Ariel, Evergreen Review, Mississippi Review, London Magazine and Caribbean Writers. He works have been published in a number of anthologies including The Oxford Anthology of Caribbean Verse, The Heinemann Book of Caribbean Poetry and The Dulwich Poetry Festival Review. 

Dr. Thompson is also an accomplished painter and his works are featured in the publication “Writers Who Paint, Painters Who Write” (http://myspot.mona.uwi.edu/marcom/newsroom/entry/5048)
