UWI Mona Student, Parchment Featured at London 2012 Olympics

UWI, Mona student, Hansle Parchment will be featured at the 2012 London Olympics representing Jamaica in the 110 M Hurdles on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at 4:10am (local time). Parchment, who won his event at the Jamaica Athletics Administration Association (JAAA) National Trials qualifying with a personal best of 13.18 seconds to meet the Olympics 'A' standard, is a final year Bachelors of Science in Psychology student. 
 
He is also the current World University Games 110 meters hurdles champion, Gibson Relays Record Holder and is the only UWI, Mona athlete to represent Jamaica at the Olympics since 1964. Following his qualifying for the Olympic Team Parchment said, “I am happy, but I was disappointed with how I came out the blocks.  I'm happy I made the national team”. Parchment boats the title of the third fastest Jamaican in the event and is ranked ninth on the world stage.
