  • The UWI signs Agreement with Coimbra Group of Brazilian Universities

The University of the West Indies and the Coimbra de Universidades Brasileiras (GCUB)/Coimbra Group of Brazilian Universities (COIMBRA) have signed a General Cooperation Agreement strengthening the relationship between the two institutions.

The agreement was signed in May by The UWI Vice Chancelor, E. Nigel Harris and President of the Coimbra de Universidades Brasileiras (GCUB)/Coimbra Group of Brazilian Universities (COIMBRA), Rector Maria Lucia Cavalli Neder when a COIMBRA mission visited the Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago and Barbados campuses of The UWI.

Since then, it has been announced that the Organization of American States (OAS) and COIMBRA are offering more than 500 scholarships for Master’s and Doctoral Programs. Given The UWI's strengthened relationship with Coimbra, members of The University community are strongly urged to apply.
