The Centre for Gender and Development Studies, Mona Unit will host its Fourth Annual Prize-Giving Function on Monday, December 16, at 5:00 p.m. in the Multi-Functional Room, Main Library, UWI.  The Dorian Powell Prize will be presented at this function.  The Dorian Powell Prize is offered to students enrolled at the UWI who are doing a minimum of three courses in Women and Gender Studies offered through the Mona Unit.  An independent committee comprising lecturers selected by the Gender Board of Studies is responsible for the final selection of the student or students for the award.  Students are judged on knowledge of subject; competence in handling written material; creativity of thought and ideas; general participation in the courses and performance throughout the academic year.
