The Leadership and Student Engagement (LSE) Unit at the UWI, Mona hosts an inaugural Student Conference on Thursday, April 5, 2012 starting at 9:15 am at the Irvine Hall Dining, UWI, Mona.  Speakers featured at the Conference include: L’Antoinette Stines, Artistic Director and founder of L'Acadco Seretse Small, musician and CEO, Griot Music and Tanya Stephens, recording artiste. The Conference will also feature other student entertainers and presenters. 
 
The Conference is designed as an avenue to engage students in discussion and encourage participation in academic conferences and forums outside of the classroom setting.  This initiative is a part of the University’s efforts to enrich the current dialogue on leadership, activism, arts and culture from the perspective of active consumers of a younger demographic and encourage critical thinking and discussion among students, entrepreneurs and artistes.
