UWI Jamaica Language Unit Stage Creole Concert (POSTPONED)

The Jamaican Language Unit at UWI, Mona in collaboration with Kurfew Productions and the Senior Common Room (SCR) at the UWI, Mona will stage a concert celebrating the Jamaican Language on International Creole Day featuring One Third, Bryan Art, Infiniti and other special guest artistes. The Concert is set for Friday, October 26 at 7 pm at the SCR.
 
Tickets for the Concert cost J$500 and can be purchased at the UWI Bookshop. For more details interested persons may telephone 970-2953.
 
Creole is both recognized and celebrated across the French Creole speaking countries of the world, in the Caribbean as well as in the Indian Ocean islands of Mauritius, Reunion and the Seychelles. International Creole Day is celebrated on the last Friday of October every year and Jamaica joins in the celebration of International Creole Day with this Concert.
 
This event is a part of the line up of activities for Creole and Heritage month which are being celebrated in October.
