Long Term Loans
These are loans for which no repayment is necessary UNTIL the maturity of the applicant's expected graduation date.
For most applicants, the expected graduation date is June 30 in the third year after their admission to the university.
Meal Subsidies
These are given to students who have demonstrated that they are having a difficulty in meeting the cost of food while on Campus. Meal tickets will be given to the applicant who will use them at commissaries on Campus to offset a part of the lunch cost.
Student Academic Enrichment Fund
The Student Academic Enrichment Fund is geared towards the provision of assistance to students to enable them to attend/participate in conferences, academic exchanges and activities which could further enrich and/or enhance the quality of training provided at UWI.
Short Term/Aston Preston Loan
These are bridging loans and matures within three (3) months after being given to the student. These loans are usually given when the applicant is expecting monies from some source, but which will not arrive on time for the immediate need. In this case, the loan will be given and will be repaid by the student upon the receipt of the monies they were expecting.
Grants
Two types of grants are offered: Book Grants and Cash Grants. Book Grants are given to cover the costs of book(s) which are needed by the student while Cash Grants are cash bursaries.
