Repayment
The following are guidelines which may be followed for repayment.
- Long Term Loans mature on the graduation date of the students. However, a six month moratorium will be given to allow the graduate time to obtain employment.
- The first installment should be paid in November of your year of graduation, a period of up to one year may be given to complete repayment.
- Payments in the form of manager's checks payable to the Office of Student Financing, UWI may be sent to the Office. The payment will brought to account and an official University receipt sent to the graduate.
- If the graduate wishes, he/she may make the payment at the University Cashier on the Campus, where two copies of a receipt will be received. The yellow copy should be taken to the Office of Student Financing.
- Interest of 15% will be added to the outstanding balance. The interest is calculated from the end of the 6 month moratorium.
- A graduate who has an outstanding loan will be debarred from:
If the terms of the loan agreement are not met,
- re-registering for any course of study at the University unless some mutually agreed arrangements have been made to repay;
- obtaining a transcript for further study/employment;
Persons who have benefited under the programme are reminded that the funds are revolving in nature. To this end, we request that you repay promptly to ensure that another student in need may have to place to which they can turn for assistance.
