Medical Physics

For students beginning their UWI journey (All Level 1 students) in the 2011/12 academic year, the major that applies to you can be found here.

A Major in Medical Physics requires 32 Part II credits consisting of twenty (20) credits from the following Core Courses:

Level 2

  • PHYS2290     Introduction to Medical Physics and BioEngineering
  • PHYS2350     Modern Physics I
  • PHYS2385     Electricity, Magnetism & Optics

Level 3

  • PHYS3390    Further Medical Physics and BioEngineering
  • PHYS3397    Medical Radiation Physics and Imaging
  • PHYS3399    Research Project (Non-Electronics)

Plus

Eight (8) credits or any two or three of the following courses:

Level 2

Level 3

  • ELET3430   Instrumentation and Measurements

 

A Minor in Medical Physics requires eight (8) credits from the following Core Courses:

  • PHYS2290  Introduction to Medical Physics and BioEngineering
  • PHYS3397  Medical Radiation Physics and Imaging

Plus

Eight (8) credits or any two or three of the following courses:
