Medical Physics
For students beginning their UWI journey (All Level 1 students) in the 2011/12 academic year, the major that applies to you can be found here.
A Major in Medical Physics requires 32 Part II credits consisting of twenty (20) credits from the following Core Courses:
Level 2
- PHYS2290 Introduction to Medical Physics and BioEngineering
- PHYS2350 Modern Physics I
- PHYS2385 Electricity, Magnetism & Optics
Level 3
- PHYS3390 Further Medical Physics and BioEngineering
- PHYS3397 Medical Radiation Physics and Imaging
- PHYS3399 Research Project (Non-Electronics)
Plus
Eight (8) credits or any two or three of the following courses:
Level 2
- PHYS2560 Material Science I
- PHYS2395 Computer Applications in Physics
- ELET2420 Solid State Electronic Devices
- ELET2430 Digital Circuits and Microprocessors
- ELET2460 Signals and Systems
Level 3
- ELET3430 Instrumentation and Measurements
A Minor in Medical Physics requires eight (8) credits from the following Core Courses:
- PHYS2290 Introduction to Medical Physics and BioEngineering
- PHYS3397 Medical Radiation Physics and Imaging
