The University of the West Indies, Mona, regrets to inform you that our former colleague, Dr. Sitaram Poddar passed away on Friday, January 21, 2022.
Dr Poddar joined The UWI Mona in 1975 as a Lecturer in the Department of Anatomy (now Department of Basic Medical Sciences). He was promoted to Senior Lecturer in 1978.
He had a special interest in Neuroanatomy, and published a number of papers in the Journal of Anatomy in his area of research - Salivary Glands. He also authored a number of review books on General and Neuroanatomy. He retired from the UWI in 1997.
In light of his death, The UWI flags will be flown at half-mast on Tuesday, February 8, 2022.
The University extends condolences to the family and friends of the late Dr. Poddar.
