Kamal Bankay

Kamal Bankay began his love affair with the entertainment industry as a teenager DJing high school parties and then transitioned to hosting the coolest house parties in the 90's and early 2000's. He subsequently co-founded and is chairman of one of the largest event festivals in Jamaica (Dream Weekend) and Jamaica’s largest carnival band Xodus Carnival. Kamal is also the Chairman of the Jamaica Carnival stakeholders committee (Carnival in Jamaica) 

He is also a co-founder and director of Jamaica’s number one nightspot brand - Ribbiz Ultra Lounge & Ocean Lounge and Third Dimension music group. 

Over the years he has strengthened the public and private partnership for development of the entertainment industry through his appointments as the Chairman of the Sports and Entertainment Network at the Jamaica Ministry of Tourism, to Director of the Jamaica Entertainment Advisory Board at the Ministry of Culture, Gender Entertainment and Sports. 

He is also the co-owner and operator of the Diplo and Major Lazer events in Jamaica which provide a huge international platform for world renowned and local artists to showcase their talent. Mr. Bankay is also a council member for the Tourism Linkages Council and Jamaica Hotel and Tourism Association. 

Kamal graduated with BSc Management Studies from The University of the West Indies and is a proud FSS Alumni.
