About us
The School of Education, University of the West Indies Mona, delivers academic programmes and professional services in Jamaica and the Wider Caribbean region. The School came into being when the University merged the Faculty of Arts, now Humanities, with the Faculty of Education in 1996 - 1997.
The academic programmes and professional services are delivered in three main categories:
- Undergraduate and postgraduate diploma programmes in Education through the Department of Educational Studies;
- National and regional teacher education development and quality control involving collaboration with teachers' colleges and Ministries of Education via Joint Board of Education (JBTE);
- Postgraduate programmes (Masters and Ph.D), commissioned research and public forums directly through the School.
