Mission Statement

The Mission of the Department of Management Studies at the Mona Campus of the University of the West Indies is to be the premier provider of academically-oriented management education within the Caribbean region, and to be a leader in the provision of such education among developing countries.

To this end, in addition to its commitment to managerially-oriented research, the Department seeks to offer a teaching curriculum which will produce students who have well developed analytical and technical capabilities, intellectually adaptive thought processes and an orientation toward life-long learning, allowing them to become effective management and accounting practitioners and researchers.

The Department of Management Studies salutes Dr. Densil Williams for his award: The Best Research Publication: Book.

Dr. Williams launched his award-winning book in October, 2009 titled "Understanding Exporting in the Small and Micro Enterprise".

For the third consecutive year, the Mona Team were declared the champions of the First Caribbean International Bank (FCIB) & UWI Inter-Campus Case Analysis Competition held at Mona on June 2nd 2009.
